Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"We drove all the way to Judy's, from Springfield, just to go here. Walked in, and it was friendly. Never had to ask for refills, and service was outstanding. You must try the pork tenderloin. And the salad bar, is not fancy. But the pasta salad, was wonderful. I can't say, we'll drive over an hour, just to go here again. But, if you're near Jasper, MO, I definitely recommend."
"Definitely a go to for locals, but a good place to stop for a hearty affordable home cooked meal when passing through! Food was delicious, and service was excellent. The waitress was attentive, kind, and welcoming. All of the staff appeared to be this way. They were busy, most tables were occupied, and they never missed a beat, great service. The place is fairly clean, but it could use some improvements. Nothing that would turn us away from stopping there again. The bathroom wasn't in great shape. The toilet and sink were clean though, which is most important, but that bathroom needs repairs! That was the only thing I was a little put off by. If you don't like a busy atmosphere, this place is not for you. Lots of folks coming and going. We both had a meal, unsweet tea and water = $26. Honestly, we felt it was a good meal for the price."
"Wow! This is a diners Drive ins and Dives type place. Local restaurant frequented by the farmers and residents of Jasper MO. It’s got to be a real hometown secret. We rambled it on a whim. And we are glad we did. The breakfast was exceptional. And the conversation with all the folks was great. Don’t come in here if you’re shy. The hometown crowd are super nice and they are gonna talk to you. Participate!! It will make your dining experience that much better. We had a simple breakfast of Eggs hash brown and ham. And one pancake. Between my wife and I we could finish it. The pancakes are huge. The ham steak is delicious! Great place with old time ambiance. Great food and nice people. Bypass Loves truck stop and Go to Judy’s if you get off at the Jasper exit! I think the total bill was $14.50. Can’t beat that! I love finding these kinds of places. They have charm and nostalgia that is quickly disappearing unfortunately!"
"Had the chicken fried chicken. It was good and hit the spot. Old school country town diner where you can get some real food. Reminded me of growing up and my dad and I hitting some country diner. No complaints. If I had to come up with one needed improvement…those booth seats have seens better days and the padding has collapsed. That’s just nitpicking though on my part."
"Best Breakfast I've had in Forever and a day!! And from what I see the rest of everything they make here looks Like MY Mom made it and served it for a growin' Boy. I'm telling you I wish I could stay here all day for Breakfast lunch and dinner. AND the prices are Good."
"I don't know what the food tastes like because I didn't get to eat but I did get to take it home but the service was okay the two waitresses did their best with the store being packed it took a while for us to get our food but we still got it and it was hot...."
"A great small truck stop just west of gloves. They have rooms for $50 a night. Just go to the convenience store and ask for a room. Convenience store has a lot of merchandise. There's also a restaurant next door that stays busy!"
"Smells of fry oil really strong, but BIG portions on my tenderloin sandwich (had to take it to go), but what I really enjoyed was the local conversation between local truckers/farmers. I highly recommend this place for food and experience."
